The post town of Yoshida was located in today's Toyohashi City. It prospered as the castle town of a feudal lord whose fief was 70,000 koku (one koku equals 5.119 U.S. bushels). Yoshida Castle is shown in a close-up at the right while Toyokawa Bridge spanning the Toyokawa River is seen from a high viewpoint. The castle is in the process of having its white outer walls repainted. Atop the high scaffolding, a workman with a towel over his head is watching the daimyo procession far below, shading his eyes with a hand. Seen on the far shore of the Toyokawa River is the sacred mountain Horaijisan, lying beyond Yoshida post town.
