This post town was in what is now known as Goyucho in Toyokawa City. Hiroshige focuses on one inn in the town at dusk and depicts women touts trying to attract customers. One man cries out in pain as he is grabbed by the neck. A samurai who has agreed to stay the night is washing his tired feet. The woman who has successfully solicited this guest is calmly watching from a window to see how her fellow touts are doing. This is an exceedingly dramatic and humorous scene.
