On the way to Kyoto from Edo, Mount Fuji is always seen on the right. At Yoshiwara, however, the mountain suddenly changes its position to the left of the highway. This is the famous "Mount Fuji seen on the left side." With Mount Ashitaka soaring in the far distance at the right, the picture portrays the rear view of a horse carrying three children. One of the children is dozing, but the other two are looking at "Mount Fuji on the left." A leisurely atmosphere pervades this picture.
